Thanks to Auntie Bonnie for the Park Ranger outfit and to Natalie for the hat!

Cookie Thief
Since there is the mother of all hurricanes on I decided that water, bread, bbq pork, and pancakes were not enough to hold us over in case we lost power. Gingerbread leaves and acorns are much better.
While the cookies were cooling on a rack in the middle of the table I was cleaning up the dishes. Edmund swiped an oak leaf! I was so shocked. (Not that he would want a cookie, since I had been feeding him pieces of dough, but that he was tall enough to reach them.) So, one poor cookie did not get frosted and one happy Bear got gingerbread! (His shirt says "Rookie of the Year", not "Cookie Bear".)

Hurricane Ready
Edmund has been a big help getting everything ready for the big storm that is coming our way. Archimedes had been living outside by the swing, but he had to relocate to the garage.
Edmund likes to talk to the wise old owl when he is in the swing, so he was thrilled to actually get to meet him. Check out last time we had to prep for a big storm.

Mustaches
Edmund just wishes he could grow something so cool!

Readers
Miss Emily came for a visit. She is a good reader. She does not mess around with books like Father or get tired of the same one over and over like Mother.

That's My Lion Book
Reading together has always been a favorite family pastime. What better way to go to bed than thinking about whether your lion's mane is fluffy?
Crunchy
In our backyard we have a goodly number of leaves and twigs all over from the hurricane. Edmund enjoyed crunching on them and hearing the sounds they made under his shoes.

Scribe
Naturally pens, pencils, paper, and pads abound at our house. There is no shortage of ways to capture words. Jonathan's mini pad and black pen are Edmund's new favorite toys. Doesn't he look grown up in this shot?

Shirts or Skins?
Please tell me I am not the only one who finds that title funny? Edmund and Uncle Caleb are dedicated to their team. We hope some day that dedication will pay off.

Motorcycle
Today Edmund went next door to visit the dogs and the neighbors who live with those dogs. Dogs are the most important creatures in the neighborhood. Motorcycles may be the next most important on his list.

With his customary courage our boy mounted the bike and enjoyed finding all the buttons and handles within reach. Pray for me when his legs grow long enough for his feet to reach the peddles.

The Right Colours
Visit to Aunt Beth, hope for the AU game, happy to be with Dad. You can see all the tension over the game outcome in Edmund's face (actually, I think it was way past bedtime and he had been in the car for a while).

Footie Jammies
I love footie jammies. Edmund loves to pull things off. Socks off his feet, blankies off his body, hats off his head, whatever it is it must come off. Cold feet are not a remedy against this tendency. Blessings be upon whomever created footie jammies.

Bible Study Baby
This is what you get when you take the Bear to Bible Study, have him go to bed in someone else's office, and then try to take him home to his own bed. He is actually a very good at transfers.

Clifton Day
It was cold and rainy. There were trains and furry hats. Thanks to Uncle David and Kirsten for a fun afternoon!

National Homemade Cookie Day
After the cookie he tried to keep the leftovers while I kept after him with a rag. I won.

Psalm 2
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
