To be a Virginian either by Birth, Marriage, Adoption, or even on one's Mother's side, is an Introduction to any State in the Union, a Passport to any Foreign Country, and a Benediction from Above. ~Anonymous

Air Show
We took Edmund to the annual Air Show. Traffic was dreadful. Once we got to the airport we had a fantastic time. Our boy liked the acrobatic flyers, though the loud engine noises put him off a bit. We were so glad that it was warmer than last year.
All three of us enjoyed the C17 flyover. My that is one big plane. I wonder if anyone ever gets lost inside?

How to fit a boy into a box
Just keep corkscrewing around and down until you are all in or your feet get squished! If distressed call for Mother who may laugh at you but will probably pull you out so you can try the process again.

Stroller
Edmund is a climber. He loves to climb into thing, over things, and off things. The stroller is a favorite. The basket under the seat (which faces up when folded) is especially fun it seems.

Readers
Reading was one of the quieter activities that Meg and Edmund pursued while Carolyn and I tried to learn our Greek vocab today.

Hydrating
Dad's camelbak is the best way to hydrate. No questions about how long that water has been in there. It is yummy.

Cookie from Mrs. K
After our boating excursion with the Ks, Mrs. K left us some of her amazing cookies. They made Edmund's day for two days in a row!

Sun Bathing
I picked up these four small chairs for outside use. Edmund is now big enough to use them. He was in the pool for a bit, but decided that sitting with me in his chair was more fun than splashing.

Reach
How far can you reach over the thing you are pushing? It is important to spin the brightly coloured baubles while walking. It is especially important not to watch where you are going while pushing and spinning. That would be multitasking, and we all know that is for girls.

Nursery Boys
Many thanks to Ben M who came and helped in the nursery this morning. He was great with the Bear & Bella. They read a bunch of books, over and over and over. Ben was very forBearing. My little man really enjoyed having a big boy play with him. Ben's "zone" had almost no crying in it until little Ben S broke the record.

Broom Jedi
Learning to handle a broom & dry mop that are quite a bit longer than you are tall is an important skill. It teaches you about balance, mirror doors, and distance. Mothers may be apprehensive about practice sessions, so make sure you sneak the implements out of the closet without her noticing. Be sure you are are still making low level noise or she may come check on you. Silence is a dead giveaway to her. Crashing into things is not recommended then she will definitely come running and probably make you put away the tools until you are older.

Wild Ice Cream Social
Tonight Miss T invited us all over for chocolate and ice cream. We all had a great time chatting with old friends. Edmund really enjoyed finding all the places around Miss T's home that were not baby proof. Best of all she has lights over the sink. They make for lots of pointing and talking.

New Bear
Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. G for the new bear on wheels. You know Edmund likes a toy if it has dinner on it's ear. This one has been "kissed and hugged" quite a bit today. He even went to the post office, library, and a walk round the neighborhood. All in a Bear's day.

Laughing at our Neighbors
"For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors, and to laugh at them in our turn?"
~Mr. Bennett
Pride and Prejudice
Today Meg joined us for some pool time. The kids were quite funny together. When Edmund slipped and dunked himself Meg busted into laughter. When Meg got splashed Edmund found it quite amusing. The mothers found both of them really funny!
